B.A.T. II on the Amiga is one of those weird, ambitious RPGs from the early '90s that somehow crammed an entire sci-fi universe onto floppy disks. You start off customizing your character with stats that actually matter—pick wrong, and you’ll feel it later when you’re getting wrecked in combat. The world’s got this grimy cyberpunk vibe, all neon and corporate overlords, but with that distinctly European RPG quirkiness where dialogue can go from serious to absurd in one click.
Combat’s turn-based but faster than you’d expect, and the gear system’s surprisingly deep for the era. Just don’t expect hand-holding—half the fun (or frustration) is figuring out how to even get past the first few missions. The music’s a banger, though, all moody synths that nail the atmosphere.
It’s definitely a product of its time, but if you’re into retro RPGs with personality, this one’s worth dusting off.
