Baby Boomer (Unl) came out in 1989 for the NES, published by Color Dreams, one of those unlicensed developers that skirted around Nintendo's approval process. It's a strange, low-budget title from the era when the console was flooded with all kinds of experiments, some more polished than others.

You control a baby in a diaper, navigating single-screen maze levels while tossing bouncing bombs to clear out an assortment of odd enemies, like floating heads and grimacing pacifiers. The main goal is simply to survive each stage, clearing every foe without getting touched. The bombs have a delayed fuse, so timing your throws and predicting their bounces is crucial; you also have to manage your limited supply, picking up extras that drop from defeated enemies. The pacing is frantic, and the hit detection can be unforgiving, but there's a peculiar satisfaction in lining up a perfect bank shot to clear a crowded corner. It feels like solving a chaotic, explosive puzzle with very little room for error.
