Game Overview

Banjo-Tooie picks up right where the first game left off—except now Gruntilda’s back, and she’s somehow even creepier as a skeletal witch. This time, she’s got backup from her sisters, and they’re draining the life out of the world to restore her rotting body. Classic Grunty.

You’re still playing as Banjo and Kazooie (and occasionally Mumbo), but now they can split up, which opens up some wild new platforming tricks. The levels feel bigger and more tangled than before, stuffed with hidden paths and puzzles that actually make you stop and think. And yeah, you’ll still be hunting down jiggies, but there’s way more moves to learn—some of them feel borderline overpowered once you figure them out.

The multiplayer minigames are a weird, chaotic bonus. One minute you’re in a goofy FPS duel, the next you’re ramming each other in bumper cars. It’s the kind of thing you’d play with friends at 2 AM when nobody’s taking it seriously. The whole game’s got that Rare charm—bright, loud, and just the right amount of ridiculous.
