Battlantis is a 1987 arcade game from Konami that came out during a time when vertical shooters were common, but it tried something a little different with its setting and mechanics. You control a stationary turret at the bottom of the screen, firing upward as waves of enemies descend in fixed patterns. The main objective is simply to survive as long as possible, clearing each stage by defeating all enemies and then facing a screen-filling boss.
