BattleTanx: Global Assault is one of those N64 games that sticks with you—partly because of its ridiculous post-apocalyptic premise (a world where 99.9% of women are gone, and warlords fight over the survivors) and partly because it’s just stupid fun. You drive tanks through ruined cities, blowing up everything in sight, including buildings that crumble realistically when you hit them hard enough.

The story follows Griffin and Madison from the first game, now searching for their kidnapped son across a wrecked America and Europe. It’s cheesy, but the real draw is the chaos—new weapons, crazy tank abilities, and multiplayer that’s pure mayhem. Four-player battles turn into demolition derbies with missiles, and co-op lets you team up to wreck the AI together. The maps feel bigger this time, and there’s something deeply satisfying about plowing through a wall instead of going around it.

If you played the original, this is more of that, just with more explosions. If you didn’t, just grab a friend and start shooting. The tanks handle like tanks—slow, heavy, and brutal—which makes every direct hit feel earned. It’s not deep, but it doesn’t need to be.
