Game Overview
Beast Busters is one of those gloriously over-the-top Amiga shooters where you just point and blast everything that moves. You play as Johnny or Sammy (sorry, Paul didn’t make the cut for the home version), mowing down waves of zombies with a machine gun that never feels like it has enough bullets. The grenades help—especially when you stumble on the electro or napalm ones—but you’ll still panic when a knife comes flying at you or some mutant dog-thing lunges from the shadows.
The levels scroll in all directions, sometimes even faking a 3D effect, which keeps you guessing where the next horde will shamble in from. And trust me, there’s always another horde. The bosses are ridiculous in the best way—one minute you’re dodging a flaming jeep that somehow came alive, the next you’re staring down a pulsating snake-blob hybrid. It’s dumb, loud, and exactly what you’d expect from a late ‘80s zombie rampage.
Oh, and if you’ve got a friend, you can team up for double the carnage. Just try not to waste all your grenades on the first wave.
