Game Overview

Beyond The Ice Palace is one of those Amiga games that looks simple at first—until you realize how brutal it can be. You play as this warrior guy armed with throwing daggers (they only fly straight, so aim carefully), and the whole thing feels like a stripped-down Ghosts 'N Goblins. Three massive levels, each packed with monsters that just love to jump at you from off-screen. And yeah, you get nine lives, but trust me, you’ll burn through them fast.

The cool part? You can grab different weapons along the way, plus these glowing orbs that give you temporary buffs. My favorite was summoning a ghost ally—basically your only hope during some of the chaotic boss fights. The sprites are chunky and colorful, and the music sticks in your head, even when you’re frustrated after dying for the eighth time. It’s short but punishing, the kind of game where you’ll memorize enemy patterns or die trying.
