Bio Hazard Battle came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed and published by Sega. It was part of that wave of early 90s shooters that tried to push the hardware with strange, organic visuals and a heavy sci-fi atmosphere.

You pilot one of four bio-engineered ships, each with a unique weapon, through a series of alien-infested environments. The goal is to cleanse each area of a mutagenic virus by destroying pulsating organisms and intricate bosses. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups to enhance your main and secondary weapons, and navigating tight, screen-by-screen corridors filled with animated biological hazards. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is steep, especially in later stages where enemy patterns become relentless.
