Game Overview
BloodNet came out on the Amiga in 1993, published by MicroProse. It was a time when the platform was full of ambitious, genre-blending titles, and this one definitely fit that mold, mixing cyberpunk with gothic horror in a way that felt fresh, if a little strange.
You play as Ransom Stark, a private investigator who gets bitten by a vampire and has to find a cure before fully turning. The game plays out screen by screen, with you exploring a dark, futuristic New York, talking to characters, hacking systems, and fighting cyber-vampires and rogue AIs in turn-based combat. The non-linear structure means you can tackle objectives in different orders, and the branching paths add some replayability, though the pacing can be slow and the puzzles are often obtuse. It feels like navigating a complex, sometimes frustrating web of choices where every interaction could lead you closer to salvation or damnation.
