Play Boktai 2 - Solar Boy Django (U)(Rising Sun) Online
You play a vampire hunter with a solar gun—the cartridge’s light sensor makes you chase actual sunlight while sneaking through shadowy dungeons. Weirdly brilliant GBA magic.

Boktai 2: Solar Boy Django came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed and published by Konami. It was one of those games that really leaned into the hardware's unique features, standing out in an era full of ambitious portable titles.
You control Django, a young vampire hunter armed with a solar-powered gun. Your main goal is to cleanse a world overrun by darkness, which involves exploring screen-by-screen dungeons, solving environmental puzzles, and fighting monsters with a mix of melee and ranged attacks. The cartridge included a physical light sensor, so you had to play in actual sunlight to charge your weapon; this meant sometimes stepping outside or angling the console toward a window. Combat requires timing and positioning, and the dungeons themselves are methodical, almost puzzle-box like in their design. It feels tense and inventive, blending action with a tangible, real-world gimmick that actually enhances the atmosphere.
