Play Boktai : The Sun Is in Your Hand (Solar Sensor Fix) Online
You hunt vampires with a solar-powered gun that only works if you play outside—tilt your GBA toward real sunlight mid-boss fight or get wrecked in the shadows. Kojima’s weirdest, coolest gimmick actually makes dungeon crawling tense.

Ever played a game that forces you to go outside? Boktai does exactly that—your GBA cartridge has an actual sunlight sensor, and your vampire-hunting weapon charges faster when you play in real sunshine. At first I thought it was a gimmick, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about angling your Game Boy toward a window mid-boss fight.
You play as Django, sneaking through gothic ruins with a solar gun that’s useless in shadows (both in-game and IRL). The mix of stealth and sunlight mechanics makes every dungeon crawl tense—do you rush through dark corridors or backtrack to a sunlit spot to recharge? Pro tip: cloudy days are the worst. Hideo Kojima’s weird genius shines here, pun intended.
Still one of the most inventive games ever shoved into a tiny cartridge. Just don’t expect to play it during night shifts.
