I picked up Bruce Lee: Return of the Legend for the Game Boy Advance back in 2003, a time when licensed games were everywhere and you never quite knew what you were getting. This one was published by Vivendi Universal Games, and it tried to capture the martial arts star's speed and style on the small screen. It wasn't the flashiest title on the system, but it had a clear focus on action and movement that felt right for a handheld.

You control Bruce Lee through a series of side-scrolling stages, punching and kicking your way through groups of enemies that pour in from both sides of the screen. The main goal is usually to reach the end of the level, but you often have to rescue hostages or find keys to unlock doors along the way. The fighting is fast and relies on combos; you can also perform flips and dodges to avoid attacks, which becomes essential when the screen gets crowded. It’s not an easy game—enemies hit hard, and the pacing stays intense. Playing it feels like a constant back and forth between aggression and careful timing.
