You control a character who explores a large, multi screen overworld and a series of dungeons, fighting enemies with a sword and collecting key items to progress. The game uses a top down perspective, and movement is screen by screen. Your main goal is to find and assemble the pieces of a sacred artifact, which involves solving environmental puzzles and defeating bosses. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be unforgiving due to limited resources and maze like level design.
