Play Cars : Mater-National Championship Online
Slide a rusty tow truck through dirt tracks, tip tractors mid-race, and pull off ridiculous stunts while Lightning McQueen heckles you—it's as gloriously dumb as it sounds.
Cars: Mater-National Championship came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2007, developed by Rainbow Studios. It was one of those many licensed games that filled the shelves back then, a straightforward racing title based on the Pixar film. You don't get a deep story or complex modes; it's just about getting behind the wheel, or in this case, the character, and racing.
You control Mater, the lovable tow truck, and your main goal is to win a series of off-road races and stunt challenges to become the "Mater-National Champion." The game has you sliding around dirt tracks, performing jumps and tricks to fill a boost meter, and using that boost to surge ahead of opponents. You can also use a tractor tipping mini-game between certain events. The controls are a bit slippery, and the difficulty can spike on later courses, but nailing a perfect drift around a corner or landing a huge jump with a full boost bar feels genuinely satisfying. It captures the chaotic, low-stakes fun of messing around in a big, muddy field.
