Game Overview

Castle Master on the Amiga is one of those weird, clunky-but-charming 3D dungeon crawlers from the late '80s. You play as a prince or princess whose family castle got cursed by some ancient jerk called the Magister—now it's full of ghouls, and your sibling's trapped inside. Your weapon? A slingshot. Because apparently royalty in medieval times just carried those around.

The whole place is a maze of towers and narrow walkways where one wrong step sends you plummeting. You'll fumble with unmarked keys (there are ten, good luck remembering which goes where), chug mystery potions that might help or ruin your day, and occasionally snack on cheese to heal. Because nothing says "high fantasy" like dairy-based health recovery.

It's janky by today's standards—separate controls for moving and aiming feel awkward at first—but there's something oddly satisfying about figuring out its quirks. Just don't expect the game to hold your hand.
