Play Castle Master 2: The Crypt Online

Pick a royal, lose the other to a dragon, then chuck rocks at ghosts in a maze-like castle where your health is a barbell and the walls whisper hints. Weird, janky, and weirdly satisfying when you finally out-muscle the puzzles.

Game Overview

Castle Master 2: The Crypt came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games lineup, developed by Silmarils. It was a first-person adventure for its time, built for an era when navigating 3D spaces with simple polygons felt new and a bit experimental. The game didn't try to be flashy; it relied on atmosphere and player curiosity to pull you into its world.

You control a prince or princess, depending on which character you choose at the start, exploring a dark, multi-level castle to rescue your kidnapped counterpart. Movement is screen by screen; you turn and advance through interconnected rooms and corridors, solving environmental puzzles and fending off spectral enemies with rocks you pick up and throw. Your health is represented by a barbell icon that depletes as you take damage or exert yourself, and the walls sometimes display cryptic messages that offer clues. The pacing is deliberate, almost slow, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you miss important hints or waste resources. It feels methodical and tense, rewarding careful observation over quick reflexes.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
