Changes came out in 2020 for the Arcade platform, developed by PixelPlay Studios. It was part of that wave of late-era arcade releases that felt like a deliberate throwback, built for cabinets but clearly made by people who understood modern design. It doesn't try to overwhelm you with spectacle; it's more focused and deliberate than that.
You control a small, agile character navigating a series of single-screen puzzle rooms. Your main goal is simply to get from the entrance to the exit, but the path is never straightforward. The core mechanic involves shifting the color palette of the entire stage with a button press, which alters the properties of the platforms and obstacles. A wall that was solid in the blue state might become a passable platform in the red state, or a deadly spike trap might vanish entirely. You're constantly toggling between two or three states, planning two moves ahead while also reacting to environmental hazards that shift on a timer. The pacing is methodical; it demands observation and timing over pure speed. It feels like untangling a knot in your mind, and the satisfaction comes from that moment of perfect clarity when the solution clicks into place.
