You pick a mutant cheetah dude, swing a sword that never quite hits right, and laugh as the game glitches enemies into the ceiling. It's a disaster, but the kind you can't look away from.
Cheetahmen II is one of those NES games that's more interesting as a story than as something you'd actually want to play. It was supposed to be a sequel to the weird Action 52 minigame, but somehow ended up even jankier—glitches everywhere, controls that fight you, and levels that feel half-finished. I tried playing as the cheetah guy with the sword first, which was a mistake because his hitbox seems to disagree with enemies about when attacks should land.
There's something almost charming about how broken it is, though. Like when you clip through platforms or enemies suddenly freeze mid-air. It's the kind of game you boot up to laugh at with friends, not to actually beat. The music's oddly catchy, at least.
