Play Chip to Dale no Daisakusen (Japan) Online
Team up as Chip or Dale, navigate through stages, and toss boxes and apples at enemy cats and rats while trying to reach the end of each level.
Chip to Dale no Daisakusen, released by Capcom for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, is a two player platformer starring the Rescue Rangers. It arrived during the NES era when co op games were still finding their footing, offering a lighthearted alternative to the more demanding action titles of the time.
You control either Chip or Dale, moving screen by screen through themed stages like a toy factory or city streets. Your main objective is to reach the end of each level, but you spend most of your time picking up and throwing boxes and apples at enemy cats and rats. The throwing mechanic has surprising depth; you can lob items in arcs or directly at foes, and you can even pick up and carry your partner, which leads to plenty of accidental (or intentional) throws. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels fair, with checkpoints that keep frustration low. It feels like a playful, cooperative scramble where even mistakes are part of the fun.
