Play Choujin Sentai - Jetman (Japan) Online
You pick your Jetman and brawl through side-scrolling stages, then suddenly jump into a clunky but awesome mech battle against towering monsters. Pure NES chaos with that weird Japanese superhero vibe.

Choujin Sentai Jetman came out for the NES in 1991, developed by Natsume. It's a side-scrolling action game based on the Japanese superhero team of the same name, and it fits right in with the kind of licensed titles that were common on the system back then. The game doesn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it has a certain charm that fans of the show or curious players might appreciate.
You control one of the five Jetman characters, each with slightly different abilities, as you move through levels packed with enemies. Your main goal is to fight through each stage, defeat the boss, and eventually take down the villainous Vyram empire. The gameplay involves standard jumping and attacking, but it also lets you call in your Birdonic weapons for screen-clearing special moves. Later, you engage in first-person mech battles where you select attacks from a menu to take down giant monsters. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly in places. Playing it feels like a straightforward, sometimes janky, but earnest adaptation of a Saturday morning-style adventure.
