Game Overview

Ever played an RPG where you don’t level up, grind for gold, or even fight most battles yourself? CIMA: The Enemy is weird like that—and honestly, that’s what makes it stick in my head years later. You’re a Gate Guardian, basically a cosmic bodyguard for a bunch of civilians trapped in a maze built by emotion-eating aliens. Your job? Keep them alive, keep them trusting you, and somehow get them home.

The real twist is how hands-off the combat feels. You’re mostly directing your party like a stressed-out tour guide—setting waypoints so they don’t get stuck on walls (they will), assigning medics to brew potions, or telling the blacksmith to sharpen someone’s sword mid-dungeon. Every character has some niche skill, and if you lose even one of them? Game over. No pressure.

What’s cool is how fragile their trust is. See a monster? Better kill it fast, or they’ll panic. Let someone take damage? Their little heart icon plummets, and suddenly they won’t listen to you. It turns escort missions into this tense, almost puzzle-like thing where you’re juggling moods as much as health bars. Definitely not your typical GBA RPG, but that’s why it’s worth remembering.
