Game Overview
Clever & Smart is this weirdly charming Amiga game based on the Spanish comic series Mortadelo y Filemón. You play as two bumbling secret agents trying to track down a kidnapped scientist, which mostly involves running around a city map that looks like someone spilled a bunch of tiny buildings and cars onto a table. The top-down view makes everything feel toy-like—except the characters, who stand upright like cardboard cutouts, which is oddly hilarious.
Half the game is figuring out how to get into places. Clever’s disguises are key—try walking into a bank dressed as a nun and see what happens. The other half is scavenging for cash, because these guys are constantly hungry, and apparently crime pays better than detective work. You’ll forge checks, bet on snail races (yes, really), or just break into houses if you’re feeling bold. The sewers are full of weird puzzles, like tapping phone lines with random tools you’ve scrounged up. It’s janky, unpredictable, and weirdly absorbing once you get into its rhythm.
Definitely one of those games where you either love the chaos or walk away baffled.
