Play Cocoron (Japan) Online
You build your own weirdo character—think flying cactus with a flamethrower—then try not to die in levels that feel like a Mega Man game gone feral.

Ever stumble across a weird NES game that makes you go, "How did I miss this?" Cocoron is exactly that—a little-known 1991 platformer where you Frankenstein your own hero from random parts. Pick a head (robot, ninja, whatever), slap it on a body (some have tank treads, others float), and arm them with bizarre weapons like drills or boomerangs. My first attempt was a flying cactus guy with a flamethrower, which... didn't end well.
It's got that unmistakable Mega Man vibe (same developers) but with way more chaos. Levels are packed with enemies that seem designed to wreck your custom creations, and half the fun is seeing which ridiculous combo actually works. The art's all bright and chunky, like someone drew it while hopped up on too much soda. Not gonna lie, some of the platforming is brutal, but failing with a clown-headed jetpack knight never gets old.
If you're into retro games that refuse to take themselves seriously, this one's a riot.
