Crash Bandicoot 2 N-Tranced came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Universal Interactive. It was part of that wave of console-to-handheld ports that tried to capture the feel of a bigger game on a smaller screen, and it managed to squeeze a decent amount of the series' charm into the GBA's hardware.

You control Crash, working to rescue Coco and Crunch from the hypnosis of a new villain, N. Trance. The game plays out across a series of linear, side-scrolling and isometric levels where you run, spin, and jump past obstacles and enemies. You collect crystals and gems, smash crates for extra lives, and face off against bosses in enclosed arenas. The controls can feel a bit stiff during precise platforming sections, especially on the GBA's hardware, but the satisfaction of clearing a tricky jump or beating a boss without taking a hit makes it worthwhile. It feels like a solid, condensed version of the console experience, built for short bursts of play.
