Game Overview

Crude Buster (or "Two Crude Dudes" if you're playing the US version) is one of those ridiculous Genesis beat 'em ups where everything feels slightly unhinged. You play as one of two government muscleheads sent to clean up a mutant-infested New York—except instead of guns, you're tossing enemies into the air, suplexing them onto oil drums, and occasionally picking up entire cars to hurl at people. The controls take a second to get used to—your guy moves like a tank—but once you realize you can body slam three guys at once, it clicks.

The whole thing has this weird charm where the sprites are comically oversized, explosions look like they were drawn by a kid with a crayon, and the soundtrack is pure early-90s cheese. It's not deep, but there's something satisfying about how over-the-top it gets by the third stage when you're literally fighting dudes on conveyor belts headed toward giant shredders. Just don't expect much plot beyond "punch everything that moves."
