Game Overview
You wake up in a post-apocalyptic world where magic and technology have collided—and not in a good way. Some jerk named Draygon is trying to resurrect an ancient superweapon, so naturally, it's up to you to stop him. The catch? You'll need to track down four elemental swords scattered across the land and fuse them into the legendary Crystalis.
At first, it feels like a typical top-down Zelda clone, but then you realize the magic system is way deeper. You’ve got spells that freeze enemies, warp you across gaps, even turn you into a fish (which sounds ridiculous until you actually need it). The music’s surprisingly moody for an NES game, and the towns actually have people with weird little problems to solve. Just don’t expect the sword upgrades to come easy—some of those dungeons get brutal.
It’s one of those NES gems that deserved way more attention than it got.
