Game Overview

Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat is this rad little NES racer from back when the real Danny Sullivan was still spinning and winning in actual IndyCar. You get 9 tracks to tear up, including the Tradewest Speed Bowl—basically their stand-in for Indy since they couldn't get the license. That one's a beast of a track, but hey, double points if you can handle it.

What's cool is how they mix arcade racing with some light strategy. Your car guzzles fuel and takes damage if you're sloppy, forcing pit stops that actually matter. The turbo boost feels awesome when you nail the timing, but you'll burn through it fast if you're not careful. Between races, you're scraping together prize money to upgrade your ride—better brakes, more power, extra turbos. First time I played, I blew all my cash on speed upgrades and immediately wrecked in the next race because I couldn't turn. Lesson learned.
