Diddy Kong Pilot was a Game Boy Advance game that never actually released, though Rare developed it as a follow up to their kart racing hit. You control Diddy Kong or other characters from the Donkey Kong universe, piloting aircraft through obstacle-laden courses. The main objective is straightforward: finish the race ahead of your rivals. Your plane can shoot projectiles, like bananas, to temporarily disable other racers and clear your path. You also collect balloons scattered around the track, which act as both a currency for upgrades and a way to extend your flight time if you run out of fuel. The pacing is fast, and the isometric view makes judging distances a constant challenge, leading to plenty of collisions with scenery. It feels like a frantic, slightly unwieldy arcade experience that demands quick reflexes.
