Disney’s Brother Bear on the GBA is one of those rare movie tie-ins that actually gets it right. You play as Kenai—who, yeah, gets turned into a bear—and the whole thing feels like wandering through the film’s gorgeous Alaskan landscapes. The controls are simple, but switching between bear mode (smashing stuff) and eagle form (gliding over gaps) keeps things interesting.
Koda, the little bear cub tagging along, somehow manages to be both annoying and adorable, just like in the movie. There’s some light puzzle-solving, a few hidden collectibles if you’re into that, and the sprite work is surprisingly vibrant for a GBA title. It’s short, sure, but the kind of cozy, low-stakes adventure that makes you smile between the occasional bear-fighting bits.
If you’ve got nostalgia for early 2000s Disney or just want a breezy platformer, this one’s worth dusting off.
