You control the fielding team, switching between players to catch fly balls, scoop up grounders, and make throws to bases. The main objective is to get three outs each inning while also trying to score runs when you're at bat. Signature mechanics include the ability to charge up swings for more powerful hits, and fielders who sometimes dive or leap with comical urgency to make plays. The pacing is fast, with very little downtime between pitches, and the difficulty comes from how quickly the ball moves and how aggressive the CPU batters can be. It feels like playing an animated sports highlight reel, where every moment is packed with action and a little bit of absurdity.
