DonPachi is one of those classic arcade shooters where you immediately know you're in for chaos. You pick from three weapon setups at the start—I usually go for the spread shot because it covers more ground, but the laser absolutely shreds bosses if you can dodge well enough. The whole screen fills up with bullets fast, and somehow you're weaving through gaps you swear weren't there a second ago.
It's got that early Cave vibe: military tanks and robots everywhere, then suddenly you're fighting a giant mechanical bee that takes up half the screen. The Saturn and PlayStation ports are decent, but there's nothing like playing it in an arcade with the volume cranked up. Just don't expect to last long on your first few credits.
