Dorodon is a 1992 arcade game from Namco that came out during a time when developers were really pushing the limits of what a maze game could be. It doesn't have the name recognition of some of its peers, but it has a distinct, almost frantic energy that sets it apart from more methodical titles of the era.
You control a small, round creature and your only goal is to survive. The screen is a single maze filled with monsters, and you clear it by touching every single question mark block before a spreading wall of fire consumes them. Your main tools are evasion and a screen-clearing whirlwind you can activate by touching a specific block, which sends every enemy flying but also resets the entire maze layout. The pacing is relentless; you are almost always on the move, making split-second decisions between grabbing marks and avoiding the encroaching flames. It feels like being in a pressure cooker where one wrong turn undoes all your progress.
