Dungeon Magic is one of those arcade beat-em-ups that feels a little different from the usual crowd. You pick between four characters—Ash the knight, Gren the warrior, Cisty the elf, or Vold the wizard—and hack your way through monsters to stop some evil sorcerer from sacrificing a princess. Classic setup, sure, but the gameplay throws in some neat twists.
Instead of just mindlessly bashing buttons, you actually level up your character as you go, unlocking stronger attacks and magic. There’s even some light platforming and branching paths, which is weirdly rare for this kind of game. The isometric view makes everything feel a bit more tactical, especially when you’re dodging spells or lining up a perfect sword swing. And yeah, it’s way more fun with friends—up to four players can team up, though good luck finding that many arcade cabinets these days.
It’s got that satisfying old-school arcade feel, but with just enough depth to keep you from feeling like you’re just grinding through waves of enemies. The wizard’s fireball spam is ridiculously fun, by the way.
