Play Earthworm Jim 3D (Europe) Online

Earthworm Jim 3D throws you into a worm’s robotic suit for some wobbly N64 platforming—whip enemies with your own head, bounce through zero-gravity cow races, and wonder what the devs were smoking. The janky controls just make the weirdness more endearing.

Game Overview

Earthworm Jim 3D came out on the Nintendo 64 in 1999, developed by VIS Entertainment. It arrived late in the N64's life, a time when 3D platformers were everywhere, each trying to stand out with their own style. This one definitely had its own look and feel, building on the series' offbeat humor but taking it into a fully three dimensional space.

You control Jim, an earthworm in a powerful robotic suit, working to save Princess What's-Her-Name from the evil Psy-Crow. The goal is straightforward: fight through levels, defeat bosses, and move the story forward. You use Jim's head as a whip to attack enemies or swing from hooks, and you pilot a rocket cow in some sections for shooting sequences. The pacing is uneven, with some frustrating platforming sections due to loose controls, but the sheer absurdity of the settings—like a level inside a giant chicken—keeps things interesting. It feels unpredictable and a little rough, but never boring.
