Earthworm Jim 3D came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, developed by VIS Entertainment. It was part of that wave of early 3D platformers where developers were still figuring out how to translate 2D charm into a polygonal world. The game picks up after a cow flattens Jim, and you explore the inside of his scrambled brain.
You control Jim through a series of surreal levels, jumping across platforms, shooting enemies with your plasma blaster, and using his own head as a whip to swing across gaps. The main goal is to collect gold Psykic Pearls scattered across each stage. The camera can be stubborn, and some jumps require precise timing. Despite the occasional frustration, moving through those warped cartoon landscapes still feels distinctly like an Earthworm Jim adventure.
