ESP Ra.De. came out in 1998 for arcades, developed by CAVE. It was part of that wave of shooters where the screen filled with intricate bullet patterns, demanding quick reflexes and a lot of memorization. You weren't just shooting things; you were navigating a storm of glowing energy.
You control one of three psychic characters, each with a unique shot type and a screen-clearing bomb. The goal is to survive through six stages, destroying everything in your path. Your main tools are a standard shot, a focused laser for precision damage, and a "psycho burst" that slows down all enemy bullets on screen, letting you slip through tight gaps or set up counterattacks. The pacing is relentless, with enemy formations and bullet density increasing sharply as you progress. It feels like walking a tightrope, where one small mistake can unravel a run, but pulling off a perfect dodge or a well-timed burst brings a huge sense of relief.
