Play Eternal Champions (Europe) (Beta) Online
Pick your doomed warrior and fight through time—dodge spinning propellers, trigger stage fatalities, and hear that ridiculous "OVERKILLLL!" scream when things get messy. The beta's janky, but that just adds to its weird charm.

Game Overview
Eternal Champions is one of those weird, ambitious Genesis fighters that tried to do something different. You've got nine historical-ish fighters—a gladiator, a samurai, even a 1920s gangster—who all died too soon and now some cosmic force is making them duke it out for a second chance. The roster feels random in a good way, like someone threw darts at a timeline.
It plays like a slightly clunkier Street Fighter II at first, but then you realize there are stage fatalities (way before Mortal Kombat made them famous) and these bizarre environmental hazards. I still remember the first time I knocked someone into a spinning airplane propeller. The announcer yells "OVERKILLLL!" like it's the most dramatic thing ever. The beta version's a bit rougher than the final release, but that just makes it more interesting if you're into retro fighting game history.
Definitely a cult classic for Genesis fans who like their fighters with extra cheese and creative violence.
