Play Eternal Champions Online
Pick a time-lost fighter and wreck each other with brutal finishers—get smashed by a subway train or vaporized mid-air if you mess up. The roster’s packed with weirdos, from cavemen to cyborgs, and they all fight dirty.

Game Overview
Eternal Champions is one of those Sega Genesis fighters that stuck with me way longer than it probably should have. You pick from nine fighters plucked from different eras—like a Neanderthal with a club, a cybernetic bounty hunter, or an Atlantean warrior—all brought back by some cosmic being for a second shot at life. The roster’s wild, and each character actually feels different, not just reskinned versions of the same moves.
It’s your standard one-on-one fighter at first glance, but then you realize how brutal it gets. Landing an Overkill after winning a match lets you finish your opponent in ridiculous, over-the-top ways (think electrocution or disintegration). Or you can slam them into stage hazards—like getting crushed by a subway train or eaten by a dinosaur. Yeah, it’s extra, but that’s why teenage me loved it.
Some of the inputs for special moves are needlessly complicated, but once you get the hang of it, the fights flow pretty smoothly. Just don’t expect Street Fighter-level precision. It’s more about the spectacle and that weird, dark charm. Still holds up if you’re into ‘90s fighters with personality.
