Excitebike 64 is one of those N64 racers that somehow nails the balance between arcade fun and just enough realism to make you feel like you're actually wrestling with a dirt bike. The tracks are wild—mud pits, steep jumps, even snow levels—and the weather actually changes how your bike handles, which I didn’t expect at first. Crashes look brutal (in a satisfying way), and pulling off a perfect landing after a huge airtime feels amazing.
There’s a track editor too, which is way more fun than it sounds—I spent way too much time building ridiculous courses full of jumps just to see how far I could launch my rider. It’s not the prettiest N64 game these days, but the physics still hold up, and that "one more race" hook is real. If you’ve got a soft spot for chaotic, slightly janky racing games, this one’s a blast.
