Exo Squad on Genesis is... weird, but in a way that kinda works? It's based on that early '90s cartoon where humans fight robot overlords in mech suits, and the game throws you into three totally different playstyles depending on which character you pick. One's a sidescrolling shooter, another feels like a clunky flight sim, and the third's this weird top-down thing—I kept getting stuck on corners at first.

The controls take some getting used to (classic Genesis jank), but there's something oddly satisfying about blasting through robot hordes in a chunky pixelated exo-suit. Just don't expect the story to make much sense if you never saw the show. It's one of those licensed games that somehow got away with being stranger than it had any right to be.
