Exo Squad came out on the Sega Genesis in 1995, developed by Novotrade International. It was a time when licensed games based on cartoons were everywhere, and this one tried to capture the feel of the animated series with its sci-fi war setting. You get to control different members of the Exo Squad, piloting various mechs against the alien Neosapiens.
You primarily direct your chosen pilot through side-scrolling levels, switching between three distinct exo-suits on the fly. One is a nimble fighter for dodging projectiles, another is a brawler for close-quarters combat, and the third is a heavy, slow-moving unit that can absorb a lot of damage. The main goal is to complete mission objectives, which often involve destroying key targets or surviving enemy waves. The game is known for its high difficulty, demanding quick reflexes and smart use of each suit's strengths. It feels like a constant, tense scramble to adapt your strategy before you're overwhelmed.
