Game Overview
F-1 World Grand Prix on the N64 is one of those racing games that actually makes you feel like you're wrestling with a real Formula 1 car. The first time I played, I spun out immediately—turns out slamming the accelerator like it's Mario Kart doesn't work here. You really have to feather the throttle and pay attention to braking points, especially when rain kicks in and the track turns into an ice rink.
The Japanese version has a few extra tracks and tweaks, and the graphics hold up surprisingly well for an N64 racer. The sense of speed when you nail a perfect lap is fantastic, though the AI drivers will absolutely punish you if you leave the racing line open. It's not the flashiest F1 game out there, but there's something satisfying about mastering its quirks.
