Play F-22 Interceptor (June 1992) Online
Bank left to dodge missiles, switch weapons mid-dogfight, and pray your fuel lasts—this is the closest you'll get to flying an F-22 on a Genesis controller.

F-22 Interceptor on the Genesis was one of those games that made you feel like a real fighter pilot—or at least as close as you could get in 1992. The moment you take off, the pseudo-3D terrain rushing beneath you, it’s hard not to get sucked in. The radar beeps, the missiles lock, and suddenly you’re weaving through enemy fire like it’s second nature.
What I loved was how it wasn’t just mindless shooting. You had to actually think—manage fuel, switch between air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, and sometimes even abort a mission if things got too hairy. The controls were surprisingly tight for the time, and pulling off a perfect dive-bomb run felt ridiculously satisfying. Sure, the graphics are dated now, but back then? This was as close to Top Gun as my 10-year-old self could get.
If you’ve got a soft spot for retro flight sims with a bit of strategy, this one still holds up. Just don’t blame me when you start humming "Danger Zone" after playing.
