Play Fantasia (World) Online
Mickey flings magic at waves of brooms while the music speeds up—miss a beat and you're swarmed. The floaty jumps feel weird at first, but nailing the rhythm makes the chaos click.

Game Overview
Fantasia on the Genesis is one of those weird, wonderful games that shouldn’t work—but somehow does. You play as Mickey in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice segment, flinging magic at an endless army of brooms and buckets while the music drives everything forward. Miss a beat, and suddenly you’re drowning in animated chaos. The controls take some getting used to (why does jumping feel so floaty?), but once you sync up with the rhythm, it clicks.
It’s not exactly what you’d expect from a Disney game—some sections are brutally hard, and the collision detection has that classic 16-bit jank. But the pixel art nails the film’s charm, and the soundtrack turns your button presses into part of the orchestra. If you’ve ever wanted to relive that scene where Mickey loses control of his spell, this is as close as it gets. Just brace yourself for the difficulty spike around the third level.
Definitely more of a curiosity than a must-play, but there’s nothing else quite like it on the system. The Genesis had a habit of turning movie licenses into bizarre experiments, and Fantasia might be the weirdest of them all.
