Fantastic Voyage Disk2 came out for the Amiga in 1991, developed by Centaur Software. It was one of those games that felt ambitious for its time, trying to capture the sci-fi premise of the original film in a side-scrolling format. The Amiga had plenty of action titles back then, but this one stood out with its biological setting and resource management twist.

You pilot a tiny submarine through the human body, tasked with destroying a blood clot in the brain. The gameplay involves careful navigation through arteries and organs, shooting hostile antibody cells while managing your oxygen and fuel levels. You also need to find nine hidden circuit boards scattered throughout the body to complete your mission. The pacing is tense; you’re always watching your resources, and the enemy patterns keep you alert. It feels like a race against your own dwindling supplies as much as against the biological defenses.
