Command futuristic forces in a battlefield, capturing enemy units and calling in airstrikes.

Game Overview
Field Combat (J) [p1] is a weird little NES strategy game where you control a UFO called the Genesis, hovering over a battlefield and commanding blue forces against red. At first, it feels like a mix of real-time tactics and arcade shooting—you're constantly adjusting your crosshair to capture enemy tanks or drop your own units into the fight.
The controls take some getting used to. Your UFO drifts slightly, so lining up shots or tractor beams feels clumsy at first. I remember wasting half my missiles trying to snipe turrets while my own tanks got wiped out. The enemy AI isn't smart, but they swarm you fast on later loops.
It's satisfying when you finally get a rhythm—stealing an enemy copter mid-battle, then using it to clear a path to the exit. But the six maps repeat quickly, and the difficulty spike on the second loop is brutal. Field Combat (J) [p1] has some neat ideas, but it never quite clicks into something great.
