Fight Fever is one of those '90s arcade fighters that somehow feels both familiar and a little off. You pick your fighter—each one representing a different country, complete with borderline offensive stereotypes—and then it's straight into the ring. The taekwondo focus gives it a different rhythm than your usual Street Fighter clones; kicks feel heavier, and the combos have this awkward but satisfying snap to them.
The stages are exactly what you'd expect from an arcade cabinet of this era: neon-lit dojos, temple rooftops, that kind of thing. It's not deep, but there's something charming about how earnestly it leans into the whole "world martial arts tournament" vibe. I kept coming back to the Brazilian fighter just because his spin kicks looked ridiculous in the best way.
If you stumble across this in an arcade, it's worth a few quarters for the novelty alone.
