FixEight is this wild, chaotic arcade shooter where you pick one of eight totally different characters—like a robot, a space mercenary, or even an alien—and blast your way up the screen. It’s the sequel to Out Zone, but way crazier. Each fighter has their own weapons, so you’ll spend the first few minutes just figuring out who feels right (I kept going back to the robot with the spread shot).
You’re on foot most of the time, dodging bullets and weird enemies, but sometimes you hop into a vehicle that locks your firing to one direction—which is either awesome or terrifying, depending on how surrounded you are. The rainbow platforms are a nice touch: step on one, and you swap between a focused, powerful shot or your default all-direction spray. And yeah, holding down fire charges a bigger blast, but good luck finding a safe moment to let it rip.
Power-ups drop from enemies, bombs are rare but lifesaving, and the bosses are the kind that fill the screen with nonsense you’ll barely dodge. Play it solo for a brutal challenge or grab a friend for slightly more controlled chaos. It’s the kind of game where you’ll die a lot, but somehow keep mashing the coin button.
