Game Overview

Flipull (or Plotting, depending on where you played it) is one of those deceptively simple puzzle games that hooks you fast. You’re flipping tiles to match colors and clear the board, but the twist is you can only flip whole rows or columns at a time. At first it feels easy—until the later levels start throwing weird shapes at you and suddenly you’re staring at the screen like, "Wait, how do I even…?"

The NES version has that classic Taito charm—bright colors, chunky pixels, and a soundtrack that’s somehow both cheerful and low-key stressful when you’re running out of moves. It’s like Puzznic’s slightly more chaotic cousin. I remember getting stuck on one level for ages because I kept flipping the wrong row and trapping myself.

Fun fact: Amiga Power ranked it the 23rd best game ever back in the day, which feels random but also kind of makes sense once you’ve played it. It’s the kind of game you boot up for "just one round" and then lose an hour to.
