Game Overview

Frontline is one of those old-school Amiga war games where you actually feel the weight of every decision. You're not just moving units around—you're managing squads of 10 soldiers, picking who gets the heavy machine guns (which absolutely slow them down, but man, that firepower), and praying your chosen leader doesn't panic when things get messy. The leadership mechanic is brutal in the best way—a bad officer can ruin your whole attack.

The maps are surprisingly detailed for the era, with shell holes and crumbling walls that actually matter for cover. I remember getting shredded in the Monte Cassino scenario before realizing I could use the terrain better. And yeah, the interface is all icons—takes a minute to learn, but once it clicks, you'll be calling in artillery like a pro. Just don't expect the tutorials to hold your hand.

It's the kind of game where losing a single squad feels personal, especially after you've spent turns carefully positioning them. If you like your strategy with teeth, this still holds up.
